Workplace conflicts. Types and resulting.
Workplace conflicts, especially those involving management, often result in lawsuits. Some of these lawsuits are fare, many of them are not. The most common types of lawsuits provoked by workplace conflicts include retaliatory and frivolous. A retaliatory lawsuits is filed on the premise that the employer has taken negative measures against an employee who complained of discrimination or reported to the authorities an ongoing illegal activity within the company. Retaliatory lawsuits are usually filed by grudging employees who hope to inflict damage on the company and gain some financial benefits. Frivolous lawsuits can be defined as any complaints that are filed based not on the actual wrongdoing but on the assumption of the plaintiff that there is financial profit to be gained.
These lawsuits in many instances are nothing short of legalized extortion.
Resulting in sabotage, harassment, and fraud
Workplace conflicts, which are ignored by the management and left unresolved, cause resentment and may provoke even law-abiding loyal employees to commit crimes such as theft, sabotage, and fraud. For example, if one employee is in charge of providing data for the other, but is late with his/her report, the other employee who has to use this data to further report to the management may feel irritation and anger. To vent off these feelings, the employee may decide to sabotage the work of the firt employee to show that he/she should be blame from him/herself. Unresolved personality conflicts may provoke employees to abuse their status and harrass other employees who are lower in rank. Resentment at management may result in the employee’s fraud to incriminate the manager.
